WALT:  We are learning to use onomatopoeia to help create interest in our writing.

In this task I learnt what onomatopoeia meant. Onomatopoeia is mimic words that help a sentence sound more interesting.

Adventurous adverbs

Walt:We are learning about adverbs and how to use them effectively.
In this task we learnt to write adventurous adverbs. I put them into Half Maori and half English.
We wrote four different things about completely different subjects.

Time To snore

Walt: We are learning about auxiliary verbs and using them in sentences.



In this task we wrote sentences using auxiliary verbs. I learnt to find different auxiliary verbs from outside the box. This was a different way to use verbs. I also found out that auxiliary verbs are helping verbs.

Conjuctions

Walt: We are learning about conjunctions and how to use them in sentences.

Task 1:

• We went home and went straight to bed.

• They are rich but they aren’t happy.

• We went home because we were tired.

• We went home early, so we missed the end of the concert.

• We went home when Jane wanted to.

• We went home before the concert ended.

• We went home after Max Jones had sung his first song.

• We went home although / though we did not really want to.

• We will go home if we are tired.

Task 2:

Gene can go to school since the weekend has ended.

Lena has a sore foot because she has an injured foot.

Katareina won't be going to the movies unless she earns her own money.

Sione can ride his bike after lunchtime.

Sally climbed a tree although she wasn’t very careful.

Kyle walked home from school but he tripped over running home.

Simon was full from dinner when he felt sick.

Anna watched her sister if she got a raise for her pocket money.

Scott was in charge only if the team liked him.

Shelley played ripper rugby while she got injured.

In this task we learnt to find conjunctions in task one .
In task 2 we learnt to add a conjunction and another half of the sentence.
