Task: On your blog, post a video or write a description about your week. What have you learned? What did you like about the trip? What didn’t you like? Was there anything that surprised you?
This week has been full of adventures and fun. My favourite place I visited was Farewell spit. I learnt alot from the whale part too like: how to keep them alive for as long as they can using wet towels, water and staying away from their tails. I also learnt more from the movie: The Whale Rider, my Great- Nana was actually in that movie. I also liked learning things about Aotearoa I actually never knew like how we invented the tranquilliser gun and bungy jumping too. I think the art I liked most about this week was seeing all of the photo's. I was surprised about the inventions New Zealand came up with. I would say the thing I least liked about the trip was the possum part because when I searched up photo's of them for my blog I saw some pretty scary ones.
Hi Cameo,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for being an awesome participant in the Winter Learning Journey programme. You are one of the only ones who has completed the entire programme so far from Pt England. Way to go!! I hope that your involvement will really inspire others to follow in your footsteps and to finish strong!
On a personal note, I really appreciate your feedback about the programme. I am so glad that you enjoyed visiting Farewell Spit and learning more about the whales. I'm really sorry, on the other hand, that you came across pictures of possums that were scary. They are not friendly little creatures, I'm afraid...
I will really look forward to seeing you when I come into Pt England early in Term 3 to hand out the certificates and the prizes. I'd love to chat with you when I come. I'm so intrigued to read that your Great-Nana was in The Whale Rider. What role did she have?
Wishing you and your family a safe and relaxing second week of holidays!
All the best,
Rachel :)
Hi Cameo,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you've had a great holiday so far! I've never heard of Farewell Spit before. Come to think of it, I haven't seen the movie or read the book of The Whale Rider either. I really should though, it sounds awesome and how cool that your Great nan was in it too!
Great job on your blog too. Enjoy the rest of your holidays and have a great term Cameo.
Love from Miss Lavakula
