Keep New Zealand Beautiful pt.1

Task: While in Taupo, you go for a walk around the lake and you notice pieces of rubbish floating in the water. You also notice that there is rubbish on the footpath. As you know, it is really important to put rubbish in the bin and keep New Zealand clean and beautiful for generations to come. With that in mind, it is time think about what you can do to keep New Zealand beautiful. Use your imagination and come up with three things that you could do to make your neighbourhood more beautiful.

My list of things to make my neighbourhood more beautiful:

- Stop Littering
- Pick Up rubbish lying on the ground
- Stop tagging on the streets
- Stop stealing from others
- Stop robbing other people
- Stop roaming around at night

  1. Hi Cameo,

You have come up with a great list of things that we should all try to do in order to keep our neighbourhoods clean and safe. I particularly like the idea that we stop tagging the streets or shops. I know that the police and business owners in parts of Auckland are working really hard to catch (and stop) people who are tagging buildings. Is tagging something that happens often in GI?

I hope that we're all able to do our part to keep NZ beautiful. I will definitely keep your list of ideas in mind when I am walking around my neighbourhood and be sure to pick up any litter that I see on the ground and throw it in the bin. It isn't hard to do but it makes such a difference, doesn't it?

Take care Cameo! See you in a few weeks when I come into Pt England to hand out certificates and prizes for the Winter Learning Journey programme :)

    Cheers,
    Rachel
